Fun at Flamingo Land

We decided to take off for a night down to Scarborough and then visit Flamingo Land the next day.  This was very off the cuff for us and we looked up Laterooms.com and booked a hotel that looked half decent (looks can be deceiving)!

We were supposed to leave about half nine and in true Glover fashion we didn't leave until 11am!  The run down was not too bad and was supposed to take just under 4 hours but we had to stop to feed Innes.  We turned up at the hotel and thought we had been transported back to 1940!  It was so dated and of course it was my fault!  However the room was large and had everything we needed and was relatively clean.

Beautiful Scarborough Beach
The beaches and town were lovely and we could have stayed for longer - maybe next time.  We went back to the hotel at 8pm thinking the boys would be tired and go to sleep easily - how wrong were we!  Innes had a bottle and settled fine.  Charlie talked non-stop until we threatened him that we would not be going to Flamingo Land in the morning if he did not stop and Harris - well - he eventually went to sleep at 10 with me in beside him.  I slept there and he woke at 1:59am and that was him till 4:30am!  This was a shock to our system as the boys always sleep and are brilliant at night.

Anyway Flamingo Land was great.  We have been before but never with the boys.  We didn't pay for the 2 little ones because they were under 2 but we did pay £35 for C, G and me.  For us £35 was pricey because C is only 3ft 5 so could't go on any big rides and we could't go on any big rides because the queues were 45 mins and the other didn't fancy entertaining the kids while we waited.  Charlie was desperate to go on all the big rides - maybe next time.

Loving the teacups.

The zoo was great and both boys really loved it and it was less busy than the theme park which meant that Harris could run free for a while.

The day was brilliant and we made memories that will last a lifetime.

I LOVE early mornings

I love those mornings when noone needs to get up for work or nursery and it's usually Innes and I that are first up.  The house is quiet and peaceful, which almost never happens and I can have my cup of tea in peace. In about 20 mins the other 2 will get up and there will be mess and noise and fighting which will continue until about half seven tonight! So right now in going to savour the moment.

Saying Goodbye

This week has been emotional to say the least in the Glover Household.  We said a huge goodbye to Uncle Mark, Auntie Linda, Laur, Jakey and Kaylz.  They are in mid air as we speak and soon to land in Dubai but we miss them all already.  We can't wait until we can go over and see them again and spend a quality 3 or 4 weeks with them.  A lot of our sentences at the moment begin with 'When we go to Australia...'
Can't wait for our first Skype date with the troops.
